As stated in the name, concentrating solar thermals (CST) is the process of concentrating sun’s rays at one spot and generating superheated steam; as a result, it is referred as concentrating solar thermals.
So, what’s CST can be used for?
Concentrating Solar Thermals (CST) is a multi-designable system that can be designed and manufactured to meet your needs.
Concentrating Solar Thermals (CST) can be used for a variety of purposes.
Community cooking can save a significant amount of fossil fuels by using Concentrating Solar Thermals (CST) instead of LPG
It can be used in mega plants instead of boilers.
It has the potential of being used as a water heater.
It can be used anywhere, where the steam is used to accomplish heavy tasks.
Let us now look at the application and design of the Concentrating Solar Thermals (CST) system
It works on the principle of point concentrator
Basically, it consists of a number of machine-operated mirrors with auto-tracking capabilities. They adjust each mirror to provide the sharpest reflection at one location called as receiver.
And due to these huge number of mirror reflection the temperature at the receiver rises to about 600 to 700 degrees Celsius
after it reaches the required temperature, water is passed through it. As we know, the boiling point of water is 100 degrees Celsius, so when it passes through 700 degrees it gets converted to super-heated steam.
Then the super-heated steam is passed and stored in a storage vessel, from where it can be supplied to do multiple things.
The superheated steam is then transferred via the pipes to perform various tasks.
These systems are perfectly constructed to keep up with today’s technology; they’re completely mobile operated, they’re entirely movable by their own, and you can follow the sun’s movement as well as see how much carbon you’ve saved and how much fossil fuels you’ve saved, so they’re quite dependable.
If it needs to be serviced, it will send you a reminder on phone. It produces the best results from sunrise to sunset.
ARS has developed its new technology AGNI 69, a concentrated solar thermal, which is straightforward solution that can be extremely useful in preparing community foods without burning any fuels, reducing fuel consumption by about 80%.
We are the indigenous manufacturers of solar grade mirrors in our country. We have been working in the field of renewable energy for the past 7+ years, and our goal is to make India the country of renewable energy
